9 Days Kenyan Safari Nakuru-Tsavo

We set off on a path that will see you experiencing the best that Kenya has to offer in terms of national parks and reserves. You shall begin with Nakuru the bird watchers paradise, then proceed to Maasai Mara a proverbial hub of wildlife, after which you shall head to Lake Naivasha for a brief Interlude before heading to Amboseli National Park where you get the best view of the highest mountain in Africa. After this you shall visit both Tsavo East and West before heading back to Nairobi. You will be touring in a private, luxurious, safari vehicle with an experienced and knowledgeable driver guide throughout your safari and back to Nairobi. All accommodation is in very comfortable facilities.

DAY 1- NAIROBI TO LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK
Approx. Distance: 156km Time: 3hours You shall be picked up from your hotel residence or the International Airport before being driven to the Lake Nakuru National Park. Along the way you shall have a crisp view of the rift valley formed as result of land faulting. Upon arrival you shall check into the hotel located inside the park and have lunch. After lunch and a period of relaxation you will then have your afternoon game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park which is also known as a bird watchers paradise. It is quite common to find a flamboyance of flamingos feeding from the lake and hence giving the Lake a distinct pink hue in the parts covered by them. Day 2 - LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK TO MAASAI MARA
Approx. Distance: 195.8km Time: 4hours Rise up early and have your breakfast before heading to the Maasai Mara also known as the world cup of wildlife in Africa. This area of preserved savannah wilderness covers an area of 1510km2 and is part of the vast Serengeti plains. It is widely known for its picturesque wildebeest migration. It is home to the big five that is the lion, the buffalo, the rhino, the elephant and the leopard among other magnificent animals such as the giraffes, black backed jackal, bat eared fox, Thomson gazelle, topi and hartebeest. It also harbours over 500 different species of birds such as ostrich, bustard, white backed vulture, secretary bird and marabou stork. Upon your arrival you will proceed to your lodge for your lunch before you head out for an afternoon game drive through the astounding reserve. Day 3 - FULL DAY MAASAI MARA GAME DRIVES
Have breakfast and then proceed for a full day tour game viewing in Kenya’s finest wildlife reserve, the Maasai Mara National Reserve. The morning and afternoon game drives take you in search of Africa’s Big Five and the plethora of other wildlife inhabiting this vast Kenyan game reserve. On clear days, the Mara offers fantastic orange tinged sunset’s well-worth capturing on camera. Wherever you go you will see a frequent amount of wildlife. It is also common to see lions either basking after a heavy meal, or surveying the plains for their next meal. Leopards are harder to spot, but reasonably common. After your afternoon game drive you retire to your lodge where you shall have your dinner before heading to bed and falling asleep to the sounds of the jungle. Day 4 - MAASAI MARA TO LAKE NAIVASHA
Approx. Distance: 228km Time: 4hours 30mins After an exhilarating two nights within this astounding reserve you shall depart to your next destination known as Lake Naivasha. Lake Naivasha is a beautiful freshwater lake fringed by thick papyrus and its surroundings are rich in natural bounty abound in bird life such as fish eagles, ospreys, lily trotters, a variety of herons and over 200 more species. You will enjoy a boat ride on the glittering lake Naivasha and view the herds of hippos and various water birds found within the lake. Day 5 - LAKE NAIVASHA TO AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK
Approx. Distance: 356km Time: 6hours You shall rise early, have your breakfast then begin your journey to the Amboseli National Park. Arrival will be in time for lunch before embarking on your afternoon game drive. You shall embark on a search for the free range tusked elephants, wildebeest, lions, cheetahs, hyenas, Maasai giraffe among other animals. Here you will also get to enjoy the breath-taking photogenic view of Mount Kilimanjaro depending on the weathers cooperation. After this you will head back to your lodge for the night. Day 6 - FULL DAY AMBOSELI GAME DRIVES
For the purposes of getting amazing views of the Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds build up over the summit, you will be required to rise early. Before setting off for another stimulating game drive. Amboseli is an excellent place to view a multitude of wildlife, including everything from Wildebeest to Giraffes to Baboons. Day 7 -AMBOSELI-TSAVO WEST
Approx.Distance: 90km TIME: 1hr 45 minutes Have your breakfast then depart driving leisurely to Tsavo West National Park. The Park is a vast expansion of African savannah with a more diverse array of habitats which include open plains, semi desert scrub, woodland, Chyulu Hills and rock outcrops. It is famous for the Red Elephants, Oryx, and Gerenuk among other mammal’s species and bird life. Some more unforgettable features found within this park include features Mzima Springs which sprouts fresh water from a dry and parched piece of rock, the Shetani Lava Flow and also Ash cones. The Movie Ghost and the Darkness was shot from here. You will enjoy a well deserved lunch break at Serena Kilaguni Safari Lodge. After lunch the fun continues with some more game watching. You shall exit the park in the evening and head over to Tsavo East where you shall check into the Voi Wildlife Lodge for the night. Day 8 -TSAVO EAST GAME DRIVES
Rise and have your morning meal before heading out for a full experience of Tsavo East National Park. It offers some of the most to die for game viewing experiences.This park is renowned for its large numbers of elephants , the famous man eating lions and other physical attractions like Tsavo River, Yatta Plateau which is 300 km2, Mdanda Rock, Lugard Falls, Voi seasonal River and Aruba Dam. Day 9 -TSAVO EAST TO NAIROBI
Approx. Distance: 424km Time: 7hours On this final day of your safari you shall rise up and head back into Nairobi. With a brief stopover along the way. You will then be dropped off at your hotel residence or the International airport for your International flight homebound.
