Day 1: Arusha to Central Serengeti National Park – Fly-in Safari & Game Drive

Your adventure begins in Arusha with a transfer to the local airport for a scenic domestic flight into Central Serengeti National Park. The flight takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, offering breathtaking aerial views of the Rift Valley, Lake Manyara, and the Ngorongoro highlands. Upon landing at the Seronera airstrip, your professional safari guide will meet you and begin your afternoon game drive. The Central Serengeti is known for its year-round wildlife concentration, including lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, and hippos. After an exciting few hours of game viewing, you will transfer to Serengeti Pure Camp (or Mara Migration Pure Camp depending on migration location) for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Northern Serengeti National Park – Full Day Game Drive (Mara River)

After breakfast, drive into the remote Northern Serengeti, renowned for the Great Wildebeest Migration river crossings at the Mara River (seasonal – July to October). If you are traveling during migration season, you may witness thousands of wildebeest and zebras crossing the crocodile-infested river – one of nature’s most dramatic spectacles. Even outside migration months, Northern Serengeti offers excellent wildlife viewing including large herds of elephants, giraffes, and resident lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush, surrounded by the endless plains. Continue game driving until late afternoon, capturing stunning photography of predators and prey. Return to Mara Migration Pure Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park – Full Day Game Drive

Today you will explore a different sector of the Serengeti ecosystem. Depending on the season and animal movements, your guide will choose routes that maximize wildlife sightings – from the Seronera River Valley (famous for leopards) to the open plains of the South, or the Western Corridor (known for migrating herds). The Serengeti offers year-round wildlife viewing including lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, elephants, buffalo, and numerous antelope species. Birds are abundant, with over 500 recorded species. Stop for a scenic bush breakfast and later a picnic lunch under an acacia tree. After a full day of exploration, return to your camp for relaxation. Dinner and overnight at Serengeti Pure Camp.

Day 4: Central Serengeti National Park – Big Five Safari Experience

Wake up early for a sunrise game drive (06:00-09:00) – the best time to spot predators actively hunting. After breakfast, continue with another full day of safari in Central Serengeti, one of the best wildlife concentration areas in Africa. This region is ideal for spotting the Big Five: lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and if lucky, rhino. You may witness lions mating, cheetahs chasing gazelles, or a leopard resting on an acacia branch. The central Seronera area is also a birdwatcher’s paradise with lilac-breasted rollers, secretary birds, and martial eagles. Enjoy a packed lunch at a designated picnic site. In the late afternoon, return to camp for dinner and overnight at Serengeti Pure Camp.

Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha / Kilimanjaro Airport Departure

After an early breakfast, depart from the Serengeti and drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater – the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera – for a half-day game drive (approximately 4-5 hours). The crater floor is home to around 25,000 large animals, including the endangered black rhino, large prides of lions, elephants, buffalo, spotted hyenas, and hippos in the Gorigor Swamp. The soda lake Lake Magadi often attracts flamingos and other waterbirds. Your guide will find a scenic spot for a picnic lunch inside the crater (often near the hippo pool). After lunch, ascend the crater and drive back to Arusha or directly to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your departure flight. End of safari.
