Entumoto Safari Camp with Mara Triangle Safaris
Description
Entumoto Safari Camp – A Gold Eco-Rated Sanctuary on the Edge of the Mara Wilderness
The name “Entumoto” comes from the Maa language, meaning “meeting point”. This is the perfect description for this exclusive camp, a place where the dramatic Rift Valley hills meet the sprawling plains of one of the world’s most celebrated wildlife destinations. Tucked away in the Mara Siana Conservancy, just 0.1 km from its border and 9.1 km from the Maasai Mara National Reserve, Entumoto offers the best of both worlds: the privacy and uncrowded game-viewing of a private conservancy and the unmatched diversity of the National Reserve itself. This prime location places you in the heart of an area renowned for its rich resident wildlife, providing exceptional access to large elephant herds, big cats, and, during the migration season, the thundering herds of wildebeest and zebra (July–October). The camp was founded in 2009 on a partnership between Swedish entrepreneur Karl-Johan von Heland and young Maasai Rimoine Ole Kararei, creating a unique blend of Scandinavian design elegance and genuine Maasai hospitality.
Accommodation – Spacious, Elegant Tents with Breathtaking Views
The camp features a limited number of high-end luxury tents, including 3 double en-suites and 4 family tents, ensuring an intimate and private atmosphere. Each tent is a masterpiece of safari luxury, combining the romance of traditional canvas with modern design details like polished hardwood floors and Persian rugs. The large, comfortable beds are fitted with memory foam mattresses, down comforters, and Egyptian cotton sheets for a perfect night’s sleep. The spacious en-suite bathrooms are equipped with hot solar-heated showers, flushing toilets, and premium, eco-friendly toiletries. A dedicated seating area and a private veranda provide the perfect spot to relax and take in the panoramic views that stretch across the vast landscapes of the Mara.
Dining – A Culinary Journey From Our Own Organic Garden
Dining at Entumoto is a highlight of the stay, where fresh, organic produce is sourced directly from the camp’s own vegetable garden. Guests regularly praise the food as being superb and high-quality, with a menu that blends local Kenyan flavours with international cuisine. All meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, are served in the central mess tent, which offers sweeping views over the plains. For a truly magical experience, the camp can arrange private bush breakfasts, picnic lunches at scenic spots in the conservancy, or sundowner cocktails as the sun sets over the savannah, providing an unforgettable feast for the senses.
Facilities & Amenities – Relaxation and Rejuvenation in the Wild

Outdoor Swimming Pool & Sun Terrace: A stunning saltwater pool provides a refreshing oasis to cool off between game drives, surrounded by sun loungers and views over the bush.

Wildlife & Activities – Tailored Adventures with Expert Maasai Guides
Entumoto’s incredible location in the game-rich Siana Conservancy, combined with its team of expert, award-winning Maasai guides, ensures unforgettable wildlife encounters. Days follow the rhythm of the bush, offering a diverse range of activities that go far beyond the traditional game drive.
Included Activities:
-
Tailored Game Drives: The camp does not have set schedules. Each evening, you plan the next day’s adventures with your guide. You can choose to drive into the heart of the Maasai Mara National Reserve or explore the quieter tracks of the private conservancy.
-
Guided Bush Walks & Nature Walks: Step out of the vehicle and onto the savannah. An armed Maasai guide will lead you on a journey of discovery, teaching you about the smaller inhabitants of the bush, from animal tracks and medicinal plants to insects and the region’s 570+ bird species.
-
Maasai Cultural & Community Visits: Entumoto was founded in partnership with the local Maasai community. Guests are invited to visit nearby villages (manyattas) and see the camp’s community projects, including a Rescue Centre for girls and a local school.
-
Cycling Adventures & Yoga: Explore the conservancy on two wheels with guided bike rides, or start your day with a rejuvenating sunrise yoga session overlooking the plains.
-
Fully Fenced & Escorted Property: As a fenceless camp that prioritises safety, Maasai warriors escort guests to and from their tents after dark, ensuring a secure and authentic experience.
Extra-Cost Activities:
-
Hot Air Balloon Safari: For a breathtaking perspective, guests can book a sunrise hot air balloon flight, which concludes with a champagne breakfast in the bush.
